About

I live in Northamptonshire with my wife Mary and son Laurence (Loz) who annoys me with his ability to play almost any musical instrument with strings on (and the piano). He is going to Trinity College of Music in London in September 2007 to study for a Jazz Degree.

I like hill walking and moutain biking, hence the dominance of landscape photographs.

For anyone interested in the equipment I use, below is a brief description.
The majority of my black and white photos are taken on a Nikon FM2n with a favourite 35mm f1.4 lens which rarely comes off the camera.
The colour photos are taken with a digital Nikon D70s or a digital compact.

The St Kilda pictures were taken on a Bronica SQA which I owned several years ago.

The more recent square or squarish photos that have quite severe blurring at the corners and edges and general lack of sharpness (e.g. Howley Wood, Bletchley Park) are taken on a Holga plastic toy camera costing about £15.00. It leaks light, aperture and shutter speed control is virtually non-existent, focus is hit or miss and you are never really sure what you are going to get. Brilliant!!
