We were up there – we made hot tea, we would sleep and take it in turns to watch. We spotted the submarine coming in very slowly – we watched – and he stopped over by the Dun. They had to balance on their left foot over the edge of the Mistress Stone, place their right foot in front, bend down and make a fist over their feet. This was to use the salvaged materials to repair the nearby Church of St. John the Baptist in Achurch. The surplus stone was used to erect a landscape feature in the form of three arches in the wooded area known as ‘The Lynches’ close by.
